The original change from feudalism was done thru revolution. The same goes for Russia. The change to quasi-capitalism is made thru choice and a realizaton that pure socialism does not work. It is a wonderful consept on paper but due to human nature it does not work.

it is a natural progression for each society. there are 5 steps (i think and i cannot remember them all). tribal, feudalism...uhhh......sorry. you could look it up. i know that you cannot skip steps as they build on each other.
i will try and find it. i learned it a while back in a world gov. class.
