Yes, I think it should be banned. That way EVERYONE will want to see it to see why it was banned, then people will read all the books that the novel and movie drew on to create the plot, and people will actually see all the research and evidence that backs up the theories in the Da Vincie Code, instead of the religious nutcases saying "there's no proof" (of COURSE there's no proof in the novel--it's a novel, that's the point).
Honestly, I don't think there's any actual reason to ban the movie, but I can see where something positive would come out of it if the Da Vinci cde WERE to be banned.

Too much contraversy has surrounded this film. it is just a film. those people who believe it probably were already doubting religion in the first place and those who don't believe it will take more than a film to break their faith. back in the 70s when the exorcist came out there was a huge outcry from the catholic church that this film was pure evil. now we watch that film and we can recognise it is just fiction. its the same with the da vinci code. i read the book and thought it was an extremely clever and good story. It hasn't hanged my views on religion.

I'm a Christian myself, and I say no, it shouldn't. Maybe I'm being a bit harsh, but if people are ridiculous enough to forget that a NOVEL is an ACKNOWLEDGED work of FICTION, then I'm not sure I want them helping represent my beliefs, which I have studied and found enough evidence to substantiate. If somone is gonna flake in and out just because it "sounds good at the time," it's their own problem...
How about this: stupidity should be banned! J/K

Banning a film actually gives it and it's ideas more power. The film isn't very good so the best thing would be to let is play, get bad reviews and go away faster.

No. We tend not to ban fictional films. In fact, we try to avoid banning at all if possible, except certain things from children (for example). It isn't the government's place to prevent people from optional entertainment opportunities.

I don't think it should be banned since it is literature, but it does raise religious questions that those who don't know the Bible will be pulled into a lie. I personally think it is an attack on Christianity, but then, I've read the Bible. I know how it all ends.

No - it's a work of fiction. If the movie was banned because it didn't conform to someone's idea of truth, you'd have to ban all movies. "Superman" would be banned, because people really can't fly. "Cars" would be banned, because cars don't really talk. "Snakes on a plane" would be banned, because snakes don't carry credit cards to buy airline tickets with.

The Davinci Code should not be banned.
Although the story is based and threads of fact, it is still up to the viewer to determine what to believe.
It is a work of entertainment.
Act on fact and be entertained by all of the rest.
Peace.

No...I still don't understand why people are upset about this book. It's fiction with a hint of history thrown in there. As a Christian I don't know why Jesus being married would have been a big deal. It doesn't have anything to do with his teachings.

No. It's a movie based on FICTION. A book.
It would be like banning sci fi movies because you don't believe in extraterrestrial life.
