I'm thinking of long, working tails--like a monkey or an opossum.

well if they where prehensile then a heck of a lot of fun. I'm sure some tails would have a mind of their own... swinging from the wrong branch and so.
if they where a simple appendage, like a dog then we could tell what type of mood others where in, happy and wagging, upset between their legs or pointing and on the hunt!
But like all good thing, someone would pop off and start the whole " my tails bigger then your tail" or "your mamas tail is so long......" or " your tails the wrong color" or "you've got the milkman's tail". people would be sneaking off to having tail implants, having then bobbed, pierced. where would it end?!

First off, an expensive wardrobe change.

Secondly, where to put the tail when driving a car.

Next: What to wash first...tail of face.

What about sexual feelings. How would I conceal a wagging tail?

What about hanging out with my friends?

What about walking across the street? Should I allow extra time at the light so that my tail wouldn't get injured?

We'd be pulling each other's tails, and some would be chasing them around in a cirlce like dogs. We'd also have to learn how to hike them up out of the way when we go to the restroom.

We would have a great sense of balance. It could become a weapon or a weakness. It would be kinda cool depending on how it looked like. But I don't think that we have a real use for them.

well females lost their tails.. but males still have theirs...

that's why there's a famous female quote
"treating a male is like treating a puppy, when they get naughty, just pull the tail.. only male's tail is in front"

It would make it easier to catch kids with if you just reach out and grab them by it. You know they always seem to be an extra foot away.

Rabbits. Men think and act like rabbits. We are evolved rabbits. Those who failed to evolve became rabbis.
