It is possible, you can get pregnant twice during ovulation and if you release two eggs, during one week or within a couple days of eachother then have sex with two different people it is possible for each man's sperm to fertilize an egg. Presto, twins. It is so possible.

Yes, it's possible although it's very very unlikely (and they would only be half-siblings).

In fraternal twins (twins who aren't identical), two egg cells are fertilized by two sperms from the same man. But if a woman releases two egg cells during ovulation and she has sex with two different men over the course of her ovulation period, two sperms from two different men can fertilise the two different eggs.

In the 1800's, this was actually proven. A white woman had sex with a black man and a white man then she got pregnant with twins. When the babies came out, one was white and one was mulatto.

To those people who were saying that twins come from one fertilized egg that was later split: you're talking about identical twins. So yes, you are right in that sense because it would be impossible for IDENTICAL twins to have different fathers.

If you were going to be realy technical it depends on if the twins are frrom the same fertilised egg which has then divide or if they are from two separate fertlised eggs. If it is one egg which has split there would only be one sperm and so one father. These twins are often referred to as identical and would be the same sex. If the twins were from two separate eggs they could each have been fertilised by two different sperm so theoretically could have different fathers. The chances of this happening are highly unlikely I would have thought though as only one egg is usually released during ovulation and unless the woman involved was having sex with two different men on a very close timescale!

I believe it is possible but very very rare. That would mean a woman would have to sleep with two different men within a few hour period. That also means she would have to be ovulating and release two eggs which is pretty rare and they would be fraternal twins. However, I did hear of a case where a woman had twins with two different fathers.

Could happen I think... it's common in cats, but then, they have more eggs than humans to start with.

Identical twins wouldn't be possible, but you could have identical quads! In other words, there are four children out of the two eggs, with one father fertising each egg, and each egg splitting to create two identical embryos. That sort of thing must happen sometimes, but it must be really hard to carry the children to term. Alternatively, and perhaps more likely, there could be one set of identical twins, and a singleton. What'd you call that? Unequal triplets?

I remember a few years ago in England a woman was trying to carry eight babies to term at the same time... she lost them all, it was pretty sad. It's not good to mess around too much with the reproductive system :(

Identical twins, no. But I have seen a paternity case where one guy was proven by dna to be one of the kids fathers, but another guy was proven to be the other twin's father. This is only possible if the twins are fraternal.

Theoritically yes. This is for fraternal twins i.e. twins from 2 separate eggs. However, eggs are viable only for a couple of days after ovulation so the chances are generally quite low.

It has been known to happen. If the mother has had unprotected sex with two men during her ovulation, it is possible for each mans sperm to fertilise two individual eggs. If both of these eggs develop, they will produce twins with different fathers.

No. Twins usually occurs when a fertilised egg splits into two. You can't carry two babies by two different fathers at the same time!

Non identical, i.e. from 2 eggs fertilised at the same time, yes it is theoretically possible, particularly if you get involved in group sex, but not possible in the case of identical twins
