People complain that by getting reported or Yahoo! deleting your question or answer, that they are taking away your freedom of speech. Is it really? Think about this though, this is a service that Yahoo! provides, it is their bussiness, it is them who create the rules and regulations for the use of this service. If you say something that goes against their rules and regulations they will delet it. Same concept in a federal building, you use foul language, you get kicked out. So is it really taking away your freedom of speech or people just haven't read the rules and regulations and find a way to complain?

No it is not taking away freedom of speech. People don't have absolute freedom of speech in every instance. Yahoo runs this site and can set any rules that they wish. People of disobey the rules will get reported and kicked off the site.

Freedom of speech also goes for the freedom for people to not want to hear you.
You still have freedom of speech under the policies. If you really think about it, we can answer how ever we want just cannot infringe on others rights to the same policies. Plus, there are Yahooers of all ages as well so as an adult you must respect that. If you want to talk dirty there are plenty of other sites for that. That is your freedom.

By agreeing to the terms of use, each person who signs up to be able to ask and answer questions has waved their rights to freedom of speech, so nothing is being taken away. Yahoo is not stopping anyone from setting up a website to dispense their beliefs or opinions.

It has nothing to do with freedom of speech. A lot of people spew insults, epithets, and curse words constantly on this forum, which is expressly against the rules.
If you can't take part is civil discourse, this isn't the forum for you. If you don't like it, find another forum for your points, or learn to make them without breaking the rules.

It's not really taking away freedom of speech. You're allowed to post questions on almost any topic. Religion, politics, it's all fair game. You only get reported when you post questions on topics which are grossly illegal ("Is it OK to kill someone by accident?") or if you purposefully try to offend as many people as possible ("Why is it that Yahoo! Answers only attracts in-bred hicks from states like Alabama?") . Sorry, I didn't mean to offend anyone with my sample questions.

No, Yahoo can place guidelines on anything they wish. They are the medium and they can decide what goes on the site.
What the constitution says is that the Government can not take away your right to free speech.

No! Freedom of speech has been abused for decades. As u stated, this is a private service & thus does not fall under the constitution.

I don't think it is taking away the freedom of speech if someone can't follow the rules.
Your avatar looks very angry by the way.
