I am a woman - and hate the irational thoughts that build up in my head-
I have a partner of 2 years, we're engaged and basically last night and today he's in a bad mood- immediately i think its me- why do women do that? and why cant men just come out and be honest with what they are feeling?
Ohhhhh why yahoo users help me feel better!

I'm so with you on this one. I think that we women are chronically insecure. It drives the guys nuts though.

Many men aren't very good at expressing their feelings. I'm not sure how to encourage them to be better; sometimes counselling can help them.

I did read an interesting fact once though: Apparently when men are upset their brain connection between the part of them that is feeling the feeling and the part that communicates is actually disconnected, so in some circumstances men are not capable of expressing their emotions even if they might wish to.

I spent years with a depressed man because I thought all his unhappiness was my fault and that I deserved to be treated badly. I think that councelling is the only way to really get over this kind of thing.

It might help to put yourself last on the list i.e. if he is grumpy assume its everything else first. It might also help if when your man tells you something i.e. that you are beautiful or that he loves you, you actually believe it and keep believing it until further notice. There is no reason for him to change his mind.. so whiy assume that he has.

I hope that things work out for you. As people keep telling me on here: just relax and enjoy your relationship don't fret about it or you may lose it.

I don't think we think too much about trivial things I think we are just sensitive especially with regard to our loved ones. I do the same thing with my husband when he goes quiet. I respond by just going quiet too and making sure there isn't anything happening in our home to make matters worse. He comes around eventually and sometimes it is me and sometimes it isn't. I think holding your tongue when you are upset about something can help to put the matter into perspective and then when it's time to talk about it both are ready not just to talk but to really listen. Words spoken when angry can be like weapons.

Men don't tend to be any good at expressing their feelings or talking about them. You're going to have to draw it out of him I'm afraid!

you're not alone - sometimes it takes days for my partner to tell me what's bothering him. I've even turned on the light in the early hours of the morning, sat on him and begged hime to tell me - that one usually doesn't fail!
