If you sign up for a hosting account, some companies will actually give you a free domain name for 1 year or even as long as you have hosting with them.

Actually u will not have the free domain name. But if u want to have the free website u acn log into www.geocities.com and can have the free webpage. But 4 that u must have the yahoo id which u r having. Log in there with ur yahoo id and choose the templates . Thats it ur website is ready.

nobody provide you free domain for your site. For this you must pay some money for yearly basis.
