Are you certain that you can't. Check out the US army surplus auctions. Speaking of which I live in Canada and found out a few years ago that it is still legal to own artillery. It is really expensive here to get permits for a hand gun but I can drive around with a howitzer on my car. I'm not so sure about ammunition but what the hey the police wouldn't suspect anything?

You can own a commercially produced/modified armored car - essentially the protection of a tank without the weapons systems. Expect to pay about US$ 100,000 for an NIJ Type IV rated vehicle.

Well, I'm pretty sure you can buy a tank, the only catch is it's armaments won't be functional. I personally would LOVE to own one. I will tell you this, they're great fun to drive. If you wanted to, you could purchase an old dozer, like a D5 or a D6, buy some plate steal and fabricate a tank for yourself. Sounds like a fun project to me.

I know without weapon system the tank is useless for you.

So, I suggest you to join some elite terrorist organization, and after some promotion could owe a T-72 tank or A rocket launcher (which will be as efficient as a tank) :)

There is plenty of job openings now these days :)

Hope that solves your problem.

You CAN buy a tank, from army surplus, but where will you operate it?
It would tear up any highways and the state prohibits that.
