It is free for the basic version. You do not have to pay to activate it. If someone else paid, they got scammed. They also have an upgraded version that costs just under $20. This version is slightly faster and comes with six months of updates. The basic version is fine for most people, but if you have a high speed connection and want to download a lot of songs/movies/etc. at the same time, the upgraded version is better.

Yup! Limewire is free. However, there is a PRO version of Limewire which will cost you a little money. The PRO version has quicker download speed and several additional features compared to the Basic. Limewire is the best P2P application ever! No other application better when compared to Limewire.

yes you have have the limewire basic for free or you can go limewire pro if you want which is what I did and you pay for that service - but its just a one time fee.

yes,limewire is free.The movie downloads take a while,but the music goes fast.I heard that is illegal to download off limewire and they are cathching people by tracing their IP address.But hell that does not tell them where a person lives.I am not sure how true that rumor is.Someone claims it was on the news.I stopped using it as soon as I started.because the truth is,the FBI knows every damn thing.i don't take chances,but it is a great site.

limewire is a program that reads and writes files from others - of course it's free. it uses the www to do this. most people look for music through it, but it's much more.....
