Definitely something in the transmission/drivetrain. That usually means getting a professional repair so get to the mechanics.

Could be something as simple as a sensor,,, or could be the transmission. Spend the money to take it to a Ford Dealer,,,, costs a bit more money but they will not swap parts to figure it out.

sounds like you looking at transmission swap; if you are planning to drive it for no more than 2 years i would consider low-mileage good used assembly, if you are running vehicle ongoing and planning to use it for longer terms check motorcraft remanufactured tranny with 3/37 parts and labor warranty - i recomend cherry-auto.com to check with - these guys are pros with great selection on used and reman units with various warranty terms and no headaches thereafter - take it to any ford dealer in a country.

forget the trans check the tire pressure and the tire sizes if 1 is worn more than the others your auto lock hubs are locking in and out it also could be u joints
a trans shop can help you diagnose this but don't go in thinking you need a trans

Check your transmission fluid it could be low. You could also have a vacuum hose off which will cause the same problem.

Sounds like the trannie is going out. Have a mechanic check it out.
