belonged to the Masonic Temple (DC/Virginia area) -- neat building. What DO Masons do? Is it more of a religious type group? What are they exactly? My brother was 16 years older than me. All I remember him telling me when I was little is that there are a lot of "secrets" and I don't know what he was talking about. Since I don't know about Masons, I don't know how to categorize this question - will do my best.

I am a Mason and would be happy to answer your question.
We are a fraternal organization, not a religious group. The only religious requirement is that you believe in a higher power, and we never talk about a person's religion again after that. We are a group of men who are dedicated to improving ourselves and our community. We do lots of charity work and help others, while also becoming good friends and doing things that any group of friends would want to do together.
Look into the work of the Shriners for their children's hospitals. All Shriners are Masons, so that gives you an example of the work we do. We also contribute an average of 2 to 3 million dollars A DAY to charity, and are contstantly working toward causes that help others.

Well from what I understand about the Mason's is that they are just like a frat but they have a little more secret rules.I remember that I had a flat tire coming from Springfield mall in Va and this Mason stop to help me and he did a sign a about 10 cars stop to help me get the tire fixed.I known that the sister soroity are the eastern stars,
