It may happen if enough immigrants make their way into the states and ruin this country like they did their own. Then they can either go back or up to Canada...and nobody wants to go to Canada!

In general situations, I don't believe that Americans will face the fate of migrating to Mexico. The US have so much resources and infrastructure (a proper education system, a government that works) that even if her economy is flagging, it can revive quickly. All these elements are very difficult to construct, taking decades, that Mexico will not catch up in short terms.
However, there are threats that Americans may have to flee to Mexico: 1.) Extreme climates due to global warming,
2.) The spread of a super disease that pollutes the land,
3.) Attacks (earthquakes, terrorists) that paralyze the US
All these ideas seem crazy, but nevertheless there are always such possibilities. As the old saying goes: "Life is a flux, nothing stands still".

You mean, if the USA deported illegal immigrants from Mexico to Mexico? I think the unemployment rate would go down. That cannot hurt.

No, just the opposite, Mexico would be an even crummier, poorer, and dirtier place to live because there would be so many jobless, and the US would become an even better with increased wages and work for all. Too bad it's not going to happen.
