The oldest continuous monarchy and the oldest dynasty is Japan and its reigning Yamato Dynasty. here is the traditional list of yamato rulers (there were empresses as well as emperors.)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Emperors_of_Japan
Although the early rulers are probably mythological, there is direct historical and archaeological evidence for the Yamato state from around 400 (A.D.) on to the present direct descendant, Emperor Akihito (reign name Hesei.) This makes the Japanese throne and dynasty older than Britain or any other European royal house.

There controversy over which is the oldest monarchy. It has been generally accepted form many years that Egypt was the site of the first monarchy. However, much evidence has been found that suggests that a monarchy existed in Nubia prior to the Egyptians.
Denmark has the longest lasting Monarchy from the past to present day.

When you ask about a continuous Monarchy, hope you meant how long has the same family with the same blood line been in power and always had a direct heir?
The answer is the Grimaldi family of Monaco. The Grimaldi's first came to power in 1297 when Francois Grimaldi siezed the fortress of Monaco by disgusing himself as a monk. The family has been in power now for over 700 years and they have always had a direct heir.

The Yamata Dynasty of Japan. Her first EMPEROR was Jimmu Tenno,, who was the Grandson of Amaterasu - the SUN Goddess, and came to rule the Japanese people on February 11, 660 BC. It was not until 1945 that the then reigning Emperor, Hirohito, renounced his "divinity" as a condition for not being tried as a war criminal.
