For a phone dialer to work (and there is one built into WinXp as well as another program called hyper-terminal) you need a working modem and a land-line. If you are connected via broadband (cable or DSL) you still need the phone connection to use a dialer. For those who want to go a bit further, yes you can fax through the land-line as well even if you have broadband.

There are two reasons why this wouldn't work. First of all if your computer is on a high speed Internet connection (DSL or cable modem) it most likely wouldn't work as it sounds like this software is looking for a modem to get a dial tone to make the calls. Second, this software is a scam to begin with, by installing it you have also probably installed about 3-6 spyware programs as well. When things like this on the Internet sound like they are too good to be true, they usually are just that. I recommend uninstalling this software as soon as possible.
