well the number one answer we are bored lol
but many reasons for me i cant answer for everyone but i can for myself i am a recluse_ someone who never leaves their safety of ones home i am online to meet with people in a safe comfertable way that i am okay with so that i can still interact with society. also i met my husband now online we can shop online we can get helpfull information online read online listen to music online we can watch movies talk to strangers in other countries and so many more and this is why i come online

most of us long to interact with other people - but with the busy lives we lead and the cost of going out to meet people, the internet is an alternative. yes we are bored and lonely - thats why we are here - and yes we use it as intertainment and excusses for not doing our work - like I am at work now and have tons to do -lol

For me it's a combination of boredom, avoiding doing certain chores and my rather poor laptop can't handle games
