Put the Aloa Vera goo on them, not only will you hate the taste but its good for your skin.

You can try to put stick-on fake nails and chew those instead.

You can try by pure will power. Its a sign of nervousness you know, lack of confidence. At least that's what my mom said to me since I was 7 yrs old, by 9 I didn't bite my nails, not even when I had an exam or an interview.

mix vinegar or something else non toxic but bitter in to clear nail polish and polish as normal, this will be a sure deterrant.

also, not sure if this would work for everyone, but when i started taking wellbutrin xl for depression, i stopped without even realizing it

They make a fingernail polish that tastes nasty. That way when you subconciously start gnawing away, you will realize what you are doing and stop. Its kinda like the stuff you get for pets to stop chewing on funiture.

my friend told me this since she has the same bad habit. She either paints her nails with tabasco sause or paints them with this nailpolish that she says tastes horrible.

Keep them painted and try your best to keep them looking good by making sure that polish doesn't get chipped. Worked for me, about ten years ago. :)
