becasue the rich never fight the rich mans war. the poor kids and middle class kids always fight the wars such as vietnam. even the draft had rich kids finding ways to dodge it. (bush, cheney). that is why i respect john kerry, he was from a privliged background and still chose to go to vietnam. if the rich kids had to go to war, there wouldn't be an iraq and our politicians would think twice before going to war.

Well, for one thing, we have an all volunteer military. So no one is required to "send" their sons and daughters. If we had a draft, that would be different.

I don't know about other conservative politicians, but the daughter of the commonwealth's attorney of Virginia has a daughter serving in Iraq.

It is not up to the parents of any child to decide what course they will follow in life. Asking a question like this presupposes that Liberal Democrats do send their children to fight. To the best of my knowledge there is no list that shows what politicians have children engaged in combat, but if you are aware of one, post it, then we can honestly debate the question.

What about the liberals? Hillary Clinton voted for and still supports the war in Iraq and I don't see Chelsea in the military.

Like all the Democrats sent their children to Haiti, Somalia, Iraq and Serbia for Clinton's military ventures? I forget, which branch of military was Chelsea in again? I remember all the Dems pushing their children into the military to support Clinton's search for a legacy, don't you?

I'm sorry, did I just expose your hypocrisy?

Did you know that most soldiers are conservative Republicans who support the war in excess of 90% approval rating, every soldier is a voluntary one, and liberals who hate war don't sign up? No one "sends thier sons and daughters" to war, they choose to go on thier own.

Therefore, your specious argument is illogical, and presupposes things which are false. Your whole thought process is erroneous.

Why don't liberal politicians do the same. Don't they really care what happens to the people of Iraq? Oh I forgot. They only want to talk people to death. They only want to tell others how to act but hate it when someone tells them how to act.

Because no parent sends their sons and daughters to war. It's a volunteer military and the individual chooses on their own. I wish you peaceniks would come up with a new mantra. That one was old years ago.

The war in Iraq was approved by 110 Democrats in Congress as well - why are you not calling for their children to fight too?

From the Senate:

Breaux - Democrat from Louisiana
Cantwell - Democrat from Washington
Carnahan - Democrat from Missouri
Carper - Democrat from Delaware
Cleland - Democrat from Georgia
Clinton - Democrat from New York
Daschle - Democrat from South Dakota
Dodd - Democrat from Connecticut
Dorgan - Democrat from North Dakota
Edwards - Democrat from North Carolina
Feinstein - Democrat from California
Harkin - Democrat from Iowa
Hollings - Democrat from South Carolina
Johnson - Democrat from South Dakota
Kerry - Democrat from Massachusetts
Kohl - Democrat from Wisconsin
Landrieu - Democrat from Louisiana
Lieberman - Democrat from Connecticut
Lincoln - Democrat from Arizona
Miller - Democrat from Georgia
Nelson - Democrat from Florida
Nelson - Democrat from Nebraska
Reid - Democrat from Nevada
Rockefeller - Democrat from West Virginia
Schumer - Democrat from New York
Torricelli - Democrat from New Jersey

An additional 81 Democrats in the House of Representatives voted for the war as well, but I don't have time or space to list them, so you can see which ones for yourself at http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2002/roll455.xml

So there! :D

YEAH! What the pizzaguy said! Just for $hits and giggles name the last democratic family to "send" their children off to war? Hint. The one that was supposed to become president died, the one that became president they wanted dead! Step Up! Give me your best shot!
