Why did JO Marie Peyton, the first Harriet, leave Family Matters?

I didn't like the last Harriet on the show just wondering if she left because the show got so stupid.

She left because she felt the network was placing too much emphasis on Urkel and all his sub-characters, and also because she wanted to write/direct episodes but was never allowed to.

she left the show? i didnt' know that. i thought she was there til the end. i stopped watching after urkel turned 40 and was still wearing highwaters and suspenders. ridiculous!!!

I heard because of network issues and she was real mad about it so she left.
