There ia an abyssal difference between liberty (freedom) and license (anarchy).

The former is highly desirable because it allows an individual to make their own choices in life according to their own free will and the dictates of their (hopefully) well-formed consciences.

The latter is an excuse for trampling over everything and everyone in order to prove to oneself that one is a powerful being indeed. Sad, really.

Freedom without responsiblity is anarchy. Period! Human nature being what it is, ie fallen, it could hardly be otherwise.

Granny Annie's definitions are laughable.
She doesn't know the meaning of the word anarchy for one. Anarchy comes from the Greek meaning 'no leader, no ruler'. It does not mean chaos.
Freedom is exactly that - freedom to do what one wishes. People seem to think that they can pick and choose what is allowed and still call it freedom. NO. It doesn't work that way. When you tell people they can't do something because you think it is morally wrong, you are infringing on their freedom.
Simply put, true freedom is when anyone can do whatever they like, whenever they like, without any consequences. The only limit that a just society could put on the universal freedom of all, is to prevent violence towards others. (Murder, rape, kidnapping, etc.) Anything else is an attempt to limit freedom. Any society that limits freedom in any way (besides stopping violence) is a sham if it calls itself 'free'.
Now you know why America isn't free. It's full of so-called moral crusaders who claim to be defending freedom while doing the exact opposite.

It really should be freedom-and-responsibility. Freedom is a bad idea without responsibility [which is why a 4-yr-old doesn't get to decide his own bedtime because he can't be responsible]. Freedom comes with responsibility. It is not just doing what you want.

Freedom means acting without the influence of a third party. However being truly free is impossible!

Freedom is being on your own with unlimited resporces.

When you choose to be with other people you must accept dillution of your personal freedom. If you don't like that then leave the planet.

It means to me that nobody can dictate to me how I should think, feel, or present myself. (If I wanna leave the house in sweats, dammit, I am!) I can say what I want.
