I once found a website where you could hear the spoken word - but now I can't find it!

just put in a search 'learn spanish' for example thats wot i did & i got loads of audio links x

I agree with Cotes du Rhone girl - Rosetta Stone is excellent language learning software. And if you really want to learn a language, the money you spend on it won't be wasted. However, I would recommend you to join a language course and combine those lessons with the ones from Rosetta Stone package. Also you should find some foreign TV stations (in the language you want to learn) and just listen, for example, news. Once you hear some news in your native language and then in that particular foreign language, you can figure out many words and how to create a sentence. Basically, that's how I learned English. However, the best way to learn any language is to go to the country where they speak that language, find a local girlfriend or boyfriend, and you will learn the language in no time.

I bought a Rosetta Stone programme, which is fantastic.
Good old ebay was the source. CD rom for your pc. Several languages, pictorial and audio.
Hope that helps.
For the price it was very good and works fine. If you can read between the lines, here.

If you want to learn French...www.rocketfrench.com is a good site. You can purchase their program and they will send you newsletter and a program download to learn French at your own pace on your computer and it is very easy to understand.
