motor converts electrical energy in to mechanical energy.
types:
AC MOTOR--> it runs on ac current( eg :- ceilin fans, exhaust fans etc)
DC MOTOR--> it runs on dc current(eg:- the ones inside toys)
SYNCHRONOUS MOTOR--> it runs at constant speed all the time(eg:-air compressors , gen set etc)
SERVO MOTOR---> it is precision device in the sense tht each angle turned by it can be precisely controlled(printers , floppy drives , hdd etc)
