yes. don't know why. there is no logical explanation. theories abound. but all can be discounted. its just how it is. it will not change. adjust perhaps. but not change. sigh.

America is a highly racist society. But other nations are just as equally racist if not more so. Americans may think that racism is an issue only dealt with in the US but racism runs rampant all over the world. Until people learn to stop being ignorant about other ethnic groups the problem will continue.

No! as a whole America is not a racist society. We have a variety of cultures and races in America and when you have so much diversity among you there is bound to be some racists.I think the same can be said of many nations not just America. This is one of the biggest obstacles facing the world today. There will always be a few bad apples in a bunch. If somehow we could rid the world of racism, imagine the peace that would prevail.

To say that it is a racist society would mean that almost everyone is racist, and not almost everyone is racist, though racism does exist. You find racism everywhere, but there are just a few very loud racists compared to the non-racist who could really care less what the color of your skin is. Don't let a few loud, ignorant people make you think that everyone is like that. That's like thinking that all liberals or conservatives are obnoxious like they are in this forum, its just not true. These are just the people we hear the most for a couple of reasons. One, like I said before, these few are the loudest. Two, we tend to hear and focus on the negative mostly and before we focus on the positive.
But racism exists, from all colors and creeds against all colors and creeds. What I say, is just live and let live. Eventually the racists and prejudiced will realize that we are all just the same, after they die, but find it out nonetheless.

no - there is no other society where anyone can be as successful as here. There are always those who will look to blame their own failings on others, on bizarre conspiracies and vague generalities they choose to assign member's of another race..but just as ready are some to place their own failings at the feet of "racism". America is not perfect. But here you can succeed or fail as fantastically as you willing to earn.

About as racist as any other society. I don't think we cornered the market on racism.

I don't think we are a racist society although there are racists in the U.S. I think people with racist beliefs are in the minority.

I think there are far too many closed-minded people,in the USA. They hate whoever they are told to hate, whether it be communists, liberals, Mexicans, blacks etc...
If more Americans would travel they would realize that people are all the same, and they have nothing to fear.
but, alas they are brainwashed by their media, they are manipulated to fear, to consume, and not to question their leaders.
It is stupid to put your "patriotism" before your humanity.
God help America.

yes b/c of ignorance. people today are filled with hatred (maybe from lack of love and good parenting from their parents) and they are consumed to blame someone for their unhappiness. it just too easy with a country filled with so many different cultures to not have racism.
if people were properly educated that we are ALL the same RACE, maybe world peace wouldn't be just an idea.

probably yes, we all have our opinions and stereotypes for others that we do not understand, and we are either afraid of or combative against what we do not understand. unfortunately, America is being forced through media hype and extremeists to focus on our diversity rather than our unity. we need to stop pushing others to accept us as individuals, races, cultures, and sexual orientations, and begin to focus on our unity as Americans. One group of people from many diferent backgrounds. i'm not saying supress who we are individually, but we need to stop creating divisions among us.
a house divided against itself cannot stand.

Not as much as it used to be. Its becoming less white pretty quickly, so you will see some reactionary boobs acting out. Like the law-makers trying to militarize the US-Mexican border.
