they both eat, are animals but can be really close to you... lovable, and likes their owner usually... good companion and company... and something you have to show some responsibility for....

they of course are different breeds, but
my cat drinks out of the toilet if we forget to close it
(just like a dog would) she also likes to play catch w/
a ball & she eats real fast & does not save any for later
just like a dog would do.
I happen to like both dogs & cats, but am a bit lazy
& don't want to walk a dog & pick up it's droppings
so that's why I got a cat

they rely, for the most part, on humans for their existance. although they can survive in a feral state, when given the choice they will join a group where they will have a constant supply of food and shelter.
