Oh yes, I felt so mature to be reading about kids in middle school when I was in third and fourth grade! I used to own every single Babysitters Club book from #1 "Kristy's Great Idea" up until the series got into the 60s or 70s. (Including at least six or seven of the "Super Specials") Every month when the new book came out, I bought it and read it in 24 hours. My home library also contained a handful of the Sweet Valley Twin books.
I can't remember what else I read at that age, but I know when I first started reading, I was completely into the Ramona Quimby and Little House on the Prairie series. And in high school, I read every Ann Rinaldi book I could get my hands on. Somewhere in there I managed to read all of the Anne of Green Gables and Emily of New Moon series too.

I remember the Babysitter's club books. I think I probably read every single one. I even have some of the movies which are so hilarious to watch now. I always wanted to be like Dawn. I also really liked anything by Judy Blume. I didn't really read Sweet Valley, but I remember watching the show on TV.
Roald Dahl was my favorite - The B.F.G., Matilda, the Witches, etc. Those books are still awesome today.
I used to love Goosebumps by R.L. Stein. I remember the library days at school where all of the students would fight over them. I also liked Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark series (I think there was 3 or so). We used to think we were so cool reading those stupid "scary" stories, many of which I still remember.

I used to read Sweet valley Twins also and Sweet valley High, used to get the books out of the library, but they only had so many of them. I used to read another selection but can't remember who wrote them, they were teenage romance types - like a girl going on holiday and having a holiday romance, or visiting an aunt and falling for the boy who cleaned the windows or something, all American based stories.
I read a book called Ptang Yang Kipper Bang at school for GCSE and everybody thinks I'm making it up, would be interesting to see if anybody else read it. About a boy at school who has to play the lead in a play and his mates skit him about it because he has to kiss a girl, and they play cricket in there spare time and there thing they say all the time is Ptang Yang Kipper Bang which I think is a bit like Get in there or something similar?!?!?!?
