Sounds like it might be someone's escaped pet fire-bellied toad. They are poisonous, but cute and nice. You should wear gloves when handling amphibians for your protection and theirs--even if they're not poisonous, they can absorb things through their skin and could be endangered by chemicals/lotions whatever you have on your hands.
Anyway, check out the link and take the frog to a pet store or your county agriculture department. Escaped pets are a big problem to native species.

Dont Scare
No creature in the world is poisonous until it bites you. So dont ever tease such creatures for entertainment, and then u never need to worry for such things. Even poisonous creatures could be good friends.

if you are in Canada, or in Northern United States, it is very very unlikely that it is poisonous. 99% to be harmless.
Poisonous frogs cannot survive in most North American climates.

Well, most of the time, if a small animal is brightly coloured, it is poisonous! However, there are a few brightly coloured fellows who are not poisonous, but are brightly coloured to scare away predators! so if you really are not sure, just be extra careful, cos most likely he is poisonous!
