From an evolutionary-primative basest response standpoint, slender girls usually represent to the males a female that is in need of protection due to their lack of stored fat. A woman with stored fat represents a woman that is already well taken care of and does not need the assistance of another male. It also projects that she is a survivalist, to have survived despite her diminished frame.

There also arguments in today's culture that it is due to Madison Avenue advertising and their vision of the perfect woman (i.e. runway models) that are usually a size 4 or less. I am not sure that this is always true, but my guess on the ones that do is that it is a primal, inborn reaction to a female. The smaller sized, the more she needs his protection, annd this is the primal need. Also ,in caveman talk, she can't get away as easy. clothes look better (the fault of the clothes companies..) I've been both fat and thin. I've noticed I've lost fat all over, (even weird places like my toes, ears.. stupid, huh?)
