OK, I know this is a question up for debate. If English is not the official language of the United States, then what is???
I PRESUMED it was. Is English the "unofficially-offical" language? --which really does not make any sense...Any input? I'm confused and I've lived in the USA all my life....

this actually is a RHETORICAL question. of course, SPANISH is not the official language - but, if we don't control things, it's going to be one confused country

Weren't the Aztecs around before the English landed, or were they only in Mexico? (seriously, I don't know my geography). English wasn't the original language of the USA because the English didn't live there first, whoever lived there first had the original and true 'American' language. I know you asked a rhetorical question and therefore it didn't really need an answer, but I wanted to answer so you could maybe help me understand this a bit better. :)
