"Everthing should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler." - Albert Einstein

What Einstein meant, I dare say, was that in scientific theories everyhing should be as simple as possible, but not simpler than is possible. He was re-stating a much older philosophical principle known as Occam's Razor - make your account of the world complete, but not overcomplete. Include evrything that needs to be accounted for, but include nothing that is unnecessary.

The theoretical concept of simplicity is related to the practical concept of efficiency - the largest possible positive output from the smallest possible input.

It's a bit of a fallacy isn't it. Nothing is simple, unless you close your eyes and mind to what is going on in the world/universe.

Like the phrase "as simple as turning on a light switch". Sure it may be simple for you, but I'm sure alot of hard work and thought went into mechanics of the thing, from the invention of each individual part to the generation of the power and so on. If you think about exactly what happens between the time you turn on the switch until the bulb is illuminated it becomes complex.

It's all a state of mind. If you are simple, if you are ignorant (by nature or by intent) most things around you will seem simplistic. And I think one of the important things in life is to know when it is appropriate to enjoy the simplicity of things, and when to think beyond what seems simple.

I believe that all in life is so simple. The very purpose of our existence is probably that simple that we have known it for millions of times but just couldn't comprehend the obvious truth. I believe that the whole Universe is based on simplicity and that all simple things or matters are the most beautiful ones. You have examples everywhere and I could write for hours about it...

Simplicity is self-directed. The biggest issue is not to compare with others. Material things make your life complicated. Be happy with basics .................love, laughter, food, etc.
