i'll try to explain it in layman's term as much as i can, the universe does not have a fix boundary according to the big bang theory because it is continously expanding. we can never reach this boundary since we have to travel faster than the speed of light in order to reach it. in other words we will never know when the universe ends since there is not enough mass at this point to bring it to a crunch as matter equals gravity. some mass is missing to bring this collapse it is at a point where there is just about enought mass to keep it expanding and to keep it from collapsing. plus it is multidimensional and we are only 3 dimensional creatures therefore no matter what we do we can never fathom it as we are limited by our senses. hope this helps...

It is beleived that the universe is expanding. If this is true, then it has no end, and is only getting bigger. Some even have suggested that the universe will expand up to a point and then collapse back onto itself where the whole big bang thing can happen all over again. This really doesnt answer your question but no one really knows. The universe is so incredibly vast that these theories are more like concepts. Just trying to imagine how far 1 light year is is hard enough. We are talking billions here when it comes to the universe.

No one actually knows. The universe may be curled up into a glome (4-D sphere) and the universe itself would be the hypersurface (3-D surface) of the glome. Now, what this means is that if you fly in one direction, in a really really long time, you will get back to where you started from. Same with on Earth, if you walk in one direction, you will eventually get back, because the Earth is round. This means that there would be no edge to this universe because it's like the surface of the Earth, there's no edge to the surface of the Earth. This may mean higher dimensions. Also this means that the universe is not infinite.

It doesn't end, in fact. Because the Big Bang contained the entire universe and it just keeps expanding there is no real center, either. It's hard to wrap your mind.

The theory is that the universe is all there is so it is never ending. It does expand so it has to go somewhere but as it expands there is more of itself to expand into. I once tried to get the logic but it failed me.

The fact is therie is no end to this universe.
Suppose you asume that there is an end to it, then the next question that comes what lies behind that end.
Hope you understand the point!

tell me where it begins and i'll tell u where it ends.i truely dont know where it ends but stephen hawking and i suspect that the universe will contract itself to a point of minimum size after it has finished maximum expansion.

i think the universe will never end because as one galaxy gets destroyed on other hand two more galaxy r formed.
