A girl can wear makeup when most of her classmates are wearing makeup. That is, she need not be the first to start, because she will get a bad reputation. On the other hand, she should not be too late to start, because ishe will be considered "uncool".
A good way to start is to allow her to use some eye pencil and lip gloss. I would not allow lipstick, eye shadow, or blush for a few more years, because they can be easily overdone and make her look... cheap.

Well, I feel a girl shouldn't were makeup until she is about 15yrs. Young girls just dont realize they dont need all that stuff on there faces. If you have to have make up then just do a lite brown with some clear mascara (it wont die your eyelashes, but still makes your eyes pop). You could also use a pink lipgloss like the color tiger lilly from Mary Kay

I think that Jr. High (6th Grade) is a good time to start wearing makeup. Thats when I started. I had some bonnebell lip gloss and a powder compact. For being 12 you should try and just start simple like lip gloss, powder compact, and a lite peachy blush. DON'T use eyeliner. There is nothin' worse than seeing young girls with eyeliner. You may think it looks good but trust me when older girls see you they will laugh at you behind your back and think that your just trying to hard to act older than you are. Eyeliner is more of a Highschool thing.
Oh always remember to wash your face at the end of the day cause at 12 you probably don't have to worry about pimples yet but its always good to start taking care of your face early and then you don't have to worry about it later!

Always less is more. The less you wear, the more better you look. Keep your look natural and use a lip gloss. If you wear a foundation, make sure it has an SPF of 15 or better.
But at 12, keep in simple, a shimmery lip gloss should be just fine. Hope it helps

I let my daughter who is 11 years old exsperiment with "a little bit" of make-up this summer only because she's going into junior high this fall & wants to beable to wear make-up.
My suggestion is take a trip to the mall or someplace like mural normans to have a porfessional make-up artist give her the 411 on make-up (show her how to apply make-up,what colors will work best for her etc...)

i think 12 or 13 is the right age to be introduced to make-up,(especially now in days that girls are growing up so fast!)....now, i'm not talking about covering your face with it. I think light eyeshadow,a little mascara, and some lip gloss gives just the right touch.Natural is the best way to start.

when her parents feel comfortable about it. Girls of any age should use make up to enhance their good points and not to look like a painted doll. Before you buy magazines for tips, I suggest you read them first, some are just not appropriate for 12 year olds.

At 12 I think it is inappropriate for you to wear make up.Maybe a little lip gloss, but that's all you need.Wait a few years 16 or so.

When go to basically everywhere. But don't wear to much if you do it'll be bad for your skin and your natural beauty won't show. I'm turing 12 in August and I'm giving you advise when I have my own problems.

I think at 12 a little eye make up look pretty cool. Keep foundation off your face yet. It will just clog up your pores.
