I still don't understand the whole cut/copy/paste thing.
If I'm looking at a web page and I want to insert that address into one of my questions or answers, without going back to Q/A page and typing it in how do I do it?
What if I want to insert some text(but not the whole page) for example, if I want to insert a paragraph from an article.
Do both pages have to be open?
How do I trasfer that information from one place to another?
Please make answers specific and as simple as possible.
I apoligize if this sounds like a dumb question, to the computer litterate, unfortunetly,I am not.
All answers will be appreciated.
Thank You
Have A Great Day!

When you put your mouse over the text of a paragraph inside the website... click and drag the Left mouse button (if you're right handed) ***Right mouse butting IF YOUR LEFT handed***
when you click and hold the mouse button you can drag your mouse across the screen... highlighting the text... in which then you can let go of the button when you've gotten all the text you want, highlighted... now you can right click, once again for right handed people, and go down to copy, and/or you can hit your Ctrl button on the keyboard... and also hit 'C' on the keyboard as well and that'll copy it.
Go to word document or notepad and right click and click on Paste. OR you can hit your ctrl button and hit 'V' for pasting as well.
Now this works for the address of an HTML too... just double click the address and it should all be highlighted... if not hitting the Ctrl button and hitting 'A' after clicking in the address box will hit select all. Ctrl-A also works on websites, if you want the entire page... click anywhere on the page and hit Ctrl-A and it'll select everything.

"Copy Cut and Paste" works by using a scratchpad area called the "Clipboard". When you Copy or Cut, it places whatever you had highlighted into the Clipboard. (Cut also deletes it from the sending area. This is useful for reorganizing paragraphs, for example)
When you Right Click a spot in the receiving area and select Paste, it copies the material from the Clipboard to the new spot.
This works for lots of pc applications, not just Web pages. It also works for pictures, not just text.
There is only one Clipboard, so you can only Copy/Cut one thing at a time. It stays in the Clipboard until you Copy/Cut again (or Restart).
Congrats! You have discovered one of the most convenient, useful tools on the pc.

highlight the area with your left click to cut hold ctrl c at the same time
to paste hold ctrl v at the same time
To select all press ctrl a at the same time
To highlight a small space press shift hold it while moving the up, down, left, right keys
to highlight certain parts press control hold it while clicking selected area's.
the page you are copying from after you have copied what you wanted can be closed and another can be opened to paste.
some scripts keep you from copying by making it so that the highlight will disappear once you release the left click button... so just hold it and hit ctrl c. it still works.

use your left mouse button to highlight what you want to copy and then right click to get your little options. Select copy (always best to copy rather than cut) and then go to where you want to put the details and click once with your left button the again once with your right to get the menu again and hit paste
should work!!

don't sleep a night and try anything on your computer that you like. You can also find books on it, say for dummies series, but i don't recommend them.
