money is worthless but pens are valuable

Banks are the cheapest entities in the world. Rallying to the old war cry, "Millions for defense! Not one penny for tribute!," bank managers will spend anything to save the life of a $0.10 pen.

Remember these are the same guys who, when ATM machines were first rolled out, that the banks would be saving much money, as they would be replacing tellers. So what happened next? First they introduced a fee for using another bank's ATM; next, the "other" bank also introduced a fee. Hence, the two-way fee was born. The banks make billions (not millions) on such fees. Its absolutely ridiculous to end up paying a fee of $4.00 to get a $20 bill from an ATM.

On the subject of bank vaults, they are open to let the customers see the nice thick doors so that they will know their money is "safe." Of course, these days over 90% of all banks have almost no money on hand (beyond the normal business day for their transactions), so there is no longer a need to close the door (unless they want to make sure the air won't be stolen.)

They don't care about losing pens but they chain them so they will be available to us when we need one there. I can't remember the last time I needed a pen at the bank. I think they call your observation a hack bit.

what most people don't relieve is that a banks true wealth stems from it's pens. They cleverly disguise them and leave them out in the open. who would think to steal a pen. they put the chain on them in case the public was to find the truth
