Pessotto had a fall from an office window on 27 June 2006: he was taken to a hospital in Turin. Pessotto was found clutching a rosary having fallen 15 metres from a dormer window at the headquarters of Juventus, from which he received multiple fractures and suffered internal bleeding. Italian Police are investigating this as an attempted suicide. [1].
The attempt has been linked to the current ongoing investigation regarding possible match fixing amongst Italy's top clubs including Juventus, of which Pessotto is the current General Manager. Even though he is not implicated in the scandal, he was said to be feeling the strain and feeling depressed about the situation.
