Hi! I have 2 tattoos -1 on my ankle & it's a small wave, it represents the surf culture that was a big part of my teenage years & my love of the ocean. I also have the word "persevere" written on the inside of my wrist to symbolise the hard times I've been through & the success of coming through them & life in general.

As a kid I was relentlessly bullied at school, and one day came home intent on committing suicide. Being of a somewhat...ahem...dramatic... disposition, I got the first pot of paint I could find and painted what turned out to be a large green question-mark on the wall of my bedroom. Then I wrote a long raging poem about my life, and by the end of it, that release had stolen the urge to go through with it. Gee, that was one fun afternoon - trying to get rid of the question-mark before my parents came home and found it.
Years later, I felt the time was right to get my only tattoo, and I got the same green question-mark put on my left arm, with a teardrop as its point. I wear it now for two reasons - firstly because my question has been answered: I'm still here - no matter how bad other people can make you feel, if you keep on breathing you will come to better days. And secondly because I strive to find rational answers to all things, both scientific and spiritual, and like to think the question-mark is my symbol of searching, of my quest to understand.

I have a few Tattoo's and they all have special meanings to them. I didn't get them until I was in my 40's because I was in the service and also I was in politics serving my country and my town. 1. a yellow flower for my mom 2. a hermit for me being alone and wanting some solitude. 3. A wolf with a deer antler which is my spirit guide. 4. a red rose with 3 thorns because I was a thorn to political parties helping all the people that I could get help for. 5. a fire pit with a fire in it firewalker the name my mom gave me when I was young. 6. a eagle that has freedom on it for fighting for the freedom of our country. 7. A picture of a mountain where I used to live meaning life its self. 8. On my back is a artisan water falls meaning the healing power of pure water in the world. 9. a serpents heart with drops of blood with all my wife's and children that I have had. 10. a spiders web meaning death to those who try and not under stand life its self. I would of had the rest done but I got totally disabled and sick so I had to stop. I was putting a life's story on my body so I could remember to be able to tell my 8 grand children. So when you get on remember to get one for the right reason and not one for a mean reason or for hate just for love and caring.

I have a dragon on my lower right side ab/pelvic area (did I explain that right hehe) The dragon itself doesn't have like a real meaning, I loved the design as soon as I saw it though. To me it means the age that I became doing everything I wanted to do without anyone stopping me (age 16, I knwo a little younger than the legal age) Im 21 now and I still love my tattoo, I want a new one I dont know what though, this next one I do want it to mean something special.

On a whim, in Thailand I got a tattoo of a dragon (about 6" x 3") where I keep my wallet. (The question is, do I wear a business suit or not...?)
It turns out many Asian countries think tattoos mean gang membership. C'est la vie.
