Should I expect from my friends to share things they know (as far as career is concerned e.g announcements, useful sites and effective ways to search on the Internet, do's and don'ts) or there are certain things that one has the right to keep for themselves? When I found out about something useful I used to tell them but recently I discovered that it's not the other way around.

Are these 'friends' who work with you? If so, in my experience no matter how close you are and care about each other, you will always first and foremost be work colleagues. So its natural for them to not want to share information with you, they see you as a threat. But then its also natural for you to no longer consider them friends. They're just workmates, I'm sure there are other people in your life who deserve to be called your real friends, so don't let it bother you too much.

Friendship (or any relationship) is about understanding what each other are comfortable with and accepting that as the limit - that's not to say that the limit won't change over time (for better or for worse) - it will and should.

And then they copy everythign that you do? Maybe you can tell them AFTER you've taken full opportunity of the sites etc.

treat people the way you like to be treated but sometimes it survival of te fittest. judge the situ and go with what feels right
