Peer-to-peer networking is most common on small LANs, particularly Windows home networks. P2P networks are typically used for connecting nodes via largely ad hoc connections. Such networks are useful for many purposes. Sharing content files (see file sharing) containing audio, video, data or anything in digital format is very common, and realtime data, such as telephony traffic, is also passed using P2P technology.

A pure peer-to-peer network does not have the notion of clients or servers, but only equal peer nodes that simultaneously function as both "clients" and "servers" to the other nodes on the network.

Client server networking refers to any network design utilizing clients and servers. Web, FTP, email, DNS and many other database applications are client/server designs. Client/server networks can be built on the Internet, on intranets, or in homes.

both are networked, both have cables connecting each other, both can get files (ie sharing) from more than their own computer.

But the difference is how the person logged in a computer has permissions (authentication / credentials) to use stuff on someone else's computer. For peer-to-peer, if something (a directory or printer) is shared AND you're logged on, then you can gain access to that thing. But with Server based networking, your special permissions, and that you have been authenticated (logged in with password) gives you access to those things you have permission for.

Peer-to-Peer except there's a server in the middle. No hardware only skill they're all proper to at least one yet another - peer to work out! It also says 8 shoppers so the position would the server be, no the position.

P2P is nothing but when two individual machines are connected it is called a p 2 p network in a p2p network there will be only 2 machines. Server base networks are when multiple machines are interconnected.
