It's good that you ask the question as alot of people only see a marriage as the the wedding day itself and fail to recognise the fact it's so much more than a nice day out. Perhaps that why so many marriages end in divorce.

If you are happy not to get married then don't. Only do it if you are 100% sure you want to, and understand the difference.

Depends on where in the world you live and if there are any children involved.

If you have children together,I would say it would be wise to get married. If you have children from seperate relationships and they don't live with you, it gets more complicated.

There are a lot of things to consider. Why not try to live together for a couple of years and if you feel like this is the "forever and ever" thing, call the minister...

Seriously. If you both bring similar worldy goods and money into the relationship and there are no children involved, it shouldn't matter much. If one of you has more assets than the other, it could complicate things when one of you passes away in the future and relatives start fighting over the inheritance.

Don't just think about today. Be prepared for the future, hope for the best but prepare for the worst.

I'm not religious even though I got married in a church so I'm not going into that part.

U call it partner, but she is ur wife(call a spade a spade).Marriage is till death do us part. Two of u are one.Ur money, property, religion is hers. Two of u should have one account, unless u have skeleton in ur cupboard.Marriage is not a contract, it is a commitment for life, it is a bond dat no one can break, not even money or religion.Marriage is the unification of existing and missing link, dat cannot be separated by anything except death. Also if she not r.c and u think hers is giving her positive changes, join her, there is nothing wrong with it.
There are lots of benefits in getting married.
I hope you're not selfish.marriage is selfless.I rather get married, and share what ever God has given me with my wife, than flirt viaout my life term, without a home.
Thanks.

I guess it depends, I hate to sound old fashioned but I think the main issues are how you view marriage and what ideas you have about bringing children.

I had very strong opinions once but I was proved wrong so do what feels right, sorry crap answer but I don't really care enough about the subject of labels to say anything else.
