Since Patrick Montal said the question is not clear enough, please note the following as well.
The adidas Golden Ball award is presented to the outstanding player at each FIFA World Cup™ finals, with a shortlist drawn up by the FIFA technical committee and the winner voted for by representatives of the media.
Surely a goalkeeper can be awarded as well, in fact Oliver Kahn won the award in World Cup 2002.
In other words my question is, if you were the one to choose the winner of this award who would he be?

The Golden Ball isn't it the prize for the one outstanding player in the tournament?
Not the Golden Shoe which will be given to the leading goalscorer.
If this is what you mean (and I think it was clear) then my vote goes to Kaka (If Brazil goes to the final match)
Why?
Because in my opinion he is the most effective player in the Brazilian team (so far)

Depends on what you mean by golden ball?
The final will be played in a "golden" ball and the winners will play all thier matches for next 4 yrs with a "golden" ball. (Germany)
Golden ball is also the award given to best player, a goal-keeper can get it, too!! (Beckham)
The golden boot goes to the max goal scorer in the WC (Ronaldo, perhaps)
Please clarify next time!!
