There are many advantages a home team gets.
These are the PRIMARY FACTORS:
1.One of the 2 standing umpires in a cricket match are from the home team
2.They have better crowd support.
eg:If england tours India
and an english player hits a 6 than it will hardly be cheered as there will be very few ENGLAND SUPPORTERS.But if an Indian player hits a 4 there will be thousands of people on the ground cheering him.
3.They can adjust with the weather conditions.
eg: If England tours India in the hot summer months than it would be very difficult for them to adjust with the heat whereas the Indian players are used to it.
These are the secondary Factors:
1.They dont need to have a 15 or 18 player squad (they can switch players whenever they want during a series).
2.They can eat the food of their type
NOTE:Nowadays the opponent teams are provided with the food they want.
3.The players of the hometeam can stay with their wives and children
Note: there are other points too......

the home team gets many advantages like
they know the place better than the opponents because they have been living there, they know better about the pitch
they more adapted to the place
for ex if england tours india in may -june,it would be dificult for them to adjust in the heat but the indians it would be a less problem.
morever u get more home fans than opponent fan.
the home team captain can also decide how to make the pitch with grass or without grass rolled etc.
Some times in their home country lots of people are supporting them and they want to be a Hero in their home Country so people play better than they play when they are not in their home town

In general cricket terms, that refers to the pitch of the home country.
For example, sub-continental nations, such a India, prefer slow, spin-friendly pitches, which makes them fairly unbeatable at home as they have many spinners in their lineup.
On the other hand, Australia, for example, prefers batting pitches, which favours them as most of the team can bat a bit.
However, in One-Day Internationals, home advantage is also the umpire, as one umpire is from the home nation, while the other is neutral.
