Most of us are selfish and don't think about anyone but ourselves and what we are going through. Things come so easy to us that we can't comprehend not having it.

How many luxuries do you personally have? All you really need is modest clothing, a bed, kitchen appliances & food to cook and warmth. Everything else is a luxury!
So where do you stand? Do you go to a big fancy church?
Do you make more than minimum wage?
Take care of the poor in your neighborhood and maybe you will get others to follow your example.

I found out the hard way that I can live on less, have less, and still thrive. What seems so important to us at the time; doesn't mean so much to us further down the road. I am not suggesting that people give up their luxuries; but only that they be sensitive to the needs of others and do their part to help their fellow man.

Although we are a tribal beast, wanting whats best for the whole; sadly it's also human nature to feather our own nests before thinking of the grater good. It's a part of survival of the fittest... we want to be sure we are better than the competition, before we help those less fortunate.
This leads to many of us feeling bad about poverty, while still striving to buy the next big thing: plasma TV, motor home, Holiday, etc.

it always amaxes me how people such as the rich and famous can squandor their wealth as they do- sometimes i think i would be the kind of person who would go thru their trash and pull the perfectly good stuff thrown away and take it to a charity somewhere.
it is shameful to have so many hungry and cold without shelter and see such waste going on.
to me- almost all the time and there are exceptions i KNOW and i am so GLAD BUT most of the time - the people who donate their time, efforst, skills ect are people who are barely over the poverty line themselves.

THE RICH GET RICHER AND THE POOR GET POORER.
That' s the way it 's always been and always will be. Regretfully, in this country, the gap betweeen the haves and the have nots is getting wider. If the rich spent more time thinking about us, how could they have time to enjoy their fancy cars, boats, planes, homes, and other toys?

We build beautiful, luxurious gated communities so we can live in our ignorance and not HAVE to care. Out of sight, out of mind.
