Both. I usually get a nap in on most holidays. But I still feel like a need a break afterwards...

I never get rest. I always feel like I need additional holidays. Too much entertaining. As I am getting older, I'm actually trimming the entertaining back some so that I can enjoy it more and relax a little more.

Depends on the type of holiday. Some holidays I sleep until i can sleep no more, and others I'm out all night every night and need a holiday afterwards.

What is rest, physical or mental. On holidays also one remains busy on a different count. Holidays are not designed to rest. When one works also one can rest, by not being restless. So, rest is a state of mind, whether on holidays or on working days, does not make any difference.

If you're a woman, the answer is NO! Holidays are God's little dirty jokes on women. We shop, we wrap, we cook, we decorate, we clean AND work (juggling it all for everybody). I would just love to just eat a turkey dinner, open some gifts, and watch a ballgame ... just one Thanksgiving holiday, for example. After 30+ years, this girl's had enough. Now I give gift certificates and I'm off on vacation!

No way. I have to cook and clean. Only MEN and CHILDREN rest during the holidays.

As we often drive wherever we go, usually, a holiday ends with a mammoth driving session which leaves me needing a day to recover.

Also, since we take our little children with us everywhere we go, we don't actually get much "rest".

This summer's going to be good though. Stay here, do very little work, just enjoy it with the midgets and Mrs C.

When my husband is home I clean and cook more. So I work more on holidays! Regular weekends are more relaxing than four day weekends!

Not really. We just end up catching up on stuff around the house we don't have time to do otherwise. At least we're together without much time constraints......
