Because it's a tradition heading way back to the time when they were noblemen and the proper way for them to dress included the wig.

its just because the legal profession is very traditional and conservative and back in the day when it all began people of high class would all wear wigs because there wasnt hair hygiene products so it was much cleaner to have a shaved head and wear a wig...thats why you see all the extravagant hair pieces and stuff...i cant think of what time frame im talking about but im hoping you're following lol...so yh they wore wigs for that reason and its just stuck
