my nipples are red and hurt, wat could be the cause?

someone please explain to me why my nipples are red and they hurt...am not pregnant for sure!

Dry skin can occur in all areas of your body including your nipples which most likely you never give special attention. Apply warm rags soaked in a mixture of 1/8 tsp. of sea salt in 8 oz. warm water to area and pat dry then apply a heavier moisturizer such as shea or cocoa butter until they feel better.

Probably because you are in mid-cycle of your period. This happens to alot of women; the nipples and breasts become very tender before the period starts. ORRRR....you have chaffed them wearing something synthetic that is rubbing on you, like going without a bra and wearing a polyester top.

gee that happens after you have a baby.. wait a few days and if it does not get better you may have to go to the doctor.. i always hate mammograms but you will not have one of them until after you see the doctor...i would not let anyone near them .. i do not know if external pain relief creme would help them or not but it is worth a shot...hope you get better soon.. you might call a doctors office and see if you can get any information about this and if you need to make a appointment now...

If you have already ruled out the obvious such as an improper fitting bra, PMS, etc.
...Then you may have a hormone imbalance
.....If it persist you should go to the Doc to get a prescription for a hormone, and to rule out anything more serious.:)

warm water in a peace of clean cloth, a cream rich in vitamin A and E, but better see a good doctor for a check to see if it s there anything wrong with ur health.

maybe its a yeast infection of the nipple of some kind of fungal infection thats the only known cause of that that i know of hope you feel beter soon hun

Maybe it's the clothes that you wear. You may have some kind of allergic reactions to some form of clothings or etc..

maybe your breasts are growing. If you are on birth control maybe thats why they are sore. its normal dont be worried unless you get discharge out of your nipples.
