Chance in a lifetime - go. Have a holiday. It is difficult that your mum lives here with your little brother and sister. splitting time between your mum and dad is hard but it MUST be done and your mum MUST realise that. A short (2week) break will do you good as you will see your dad and grandparents. I'm sure that your dad will pay for your air fare to California. Also, your mum will welcome your return. As for your responsibilty to your brother and sister, two weeks is no time at all. Buy your mother, sister and brother a small gift unique to America. Enjoy yourself as an chance to see your dad, grandparents, mum, sister and brother in one year is a chance in a lifetime. Maybe you can make it a regular yearly thing (talk to your mum and dad about it (not at the same time) and I think that you and all your family will benefit from it.
It's your choice but, in my opinion I would GO GO GO.
