There have been many great QBs but I find it hard to go past Joe Montana.
His stats weren't the greatest but 4 Superbowl rings is pretty hard to argue with and he always found a way to win. He was also one of those rare individuals who had this weird light around him I have only seen on two or three people. (It is called charisma.)

As great as Dan Marino was with a lot of passing records, I cant consider a guy who was always a loser and never won a super bowl the best quarterback ever. I'd have to say Joe Montana at this point, but it may very well one day be Tom Brady with his 3 rings already.

John Elway, the guy was a natural born leader and he jus knew how to win football games, he didn't win superbowls until his laast 2 seasons but he was the king of comebacks, who could forget his 87 yard drive against the Browns in the 1987 playoffs?

I like Joe Montana and Dan Marino, but have we forgotten Terry Bradshaw? He also has 4 Super Bowl rings.

To me the way to judge the best is to see
1-State per game.
2-Results in play off.
Joe Montana has the best in those. Lowest Int. highest TD, best compleation. and 5 rings I think. Maybe 4 but still, pretty darn good.
