Pick the names of people that you've known in your life (not necessarily friends) and think about the qualities that you associate them with. You should find that names will come to your characters quite naturally.
In the end, you don't need to really decide on the names until your book is finished (search & replace is a wonderful tool) unless the narrator is called something like 'Hope' or 'Chastity' etc...

Dilbert, Rosenkrantz, Ethel, Jodpur ... anything. Just make them different enough to be easily recognisable by the reader. Eg not James and Jack for example.

I think talkative names are rather pathetic these days.
Average names may sound silly too.
You know what? Try to use exotic names to raise more interest, like Asian or Slavic immigrants’ names.
