I feel like I work for nothing. I work 40 hours a week just to pay the bills. I could stay home and have to pay nothing.

If you stay home then how would the bills get paid? The reality is that unless you are Bill G. or Donald T. that's just the way it goes. Maybe you just need a new job. I myself prefer staying home and paying the bills - lol

If you are in a good, stable marriage, then at home! I don't have guilt over paying others to raise my kids, or daycare fees, gas, wear and tear on a second vehicle, work clothing, taxes, scared about losing job if my kid gets sick too much. I am with them, almost always. Its not always easy, but its best for them. And I love my kids enough to sacrifice a few years for their best interests. Walking the halls at 3am with a sick baby sucks, but at least I don't have to turn around at 6am and get them ready to go to a daycare. I have been at home for 8 years now. My youngest starts school this year, and I cannot wait to volunteer at school, go to programs, eat lunch with them, and surprise my husband with lunch at work. And I get to finally keep my house cleaner! We are very good with money, and have no debt. Just because you stay at home doesn't mean it has to be harder. For my husband and I, it was a wonderful choice.

I remember reading the results of a study they did in the UK. They compared single-income families to dual-income families with twice the income.

The single income families had more spare spending money, had fewer problems paying their debts (mortgages etc) and had fewer bad debts like credit cards etc.

Sometimes it pays to stay at home!

LOL...good way to look at it except for the simple fact if you are the only income...sitting home with no money coming in sux because you surely end up with nothing.
