He then calls me, does live in the same town, when he finds from someone else that I have cancer. He has called me three times wanting to talk and I have not called back. During that year, I got married, I had lost my job, had gone through family issues, and developed cancer and never did he check up on me. He had moved to Philadelphia and never gave me his new address. I really don't want to continue this so-called friendship. How should I break to him. Will he understand if I never return his calls?

Well that one is hard. I moved away from my home place 10 years a go now and I have only just got in comtact with one of my mates that I had not heard from in all this time. People do move on but you can still be freinds after all this time. I was glad to hear from my friend but at the end of the day its up to you what you want to do. Remember when people move on sometimes they can not get hold of you for some reason or think that you do not want to hear from then as you have not spoke or called him. He might feel bad after all. He must still care for you. I say give him another chance but its up to you now. The ball is in your court. Good Luck
