That sounds strange. Really strange. When I had a DNC surgery a couple of months ago it was because there was significant conception matter left in my uterus. I would not stop bleeding.
The doctor explained to me that the DNC was where he would knock me out and then clean out my uterus by scraping it.
I dont see how you could be pregnant still after that. you should go and speak with your doctor and request that you get an ultra sound done.
The one thing that I can think of is that your body is still producing the pregnancy horemone because your body thinks it is still pregnant .. but after awhile.. usually by the time you get your next period the horemone should have dropped down to nothing.

Sounds strange. Based on what was this said. If anything other than an ultrasound showing a fetus, I would be very cautious...
By the way, it's not a DNC, it's a D&C - that stands for dilatation and curettage - it's a process in which the cervix is dilated and the uterus is cleaned. Today D&C's are often performed using suction.

I think you mean you had a D&C, not a DNC.
If the D&C was done correctly, then you weren't pregnant when it was over. I would suggest you clarify with your doctor whether she/he actually said you are still pregnant.
Yes, mistakes can be made. Doctors are human beings.

if you had the D&C done Monday, and the Dr told you that you still tested positive for a pregnancy test, then you must still have the HGC hormone in your blood..It will diminish as the days go by.You bleed after a D&C, so IF you are STILL pregnant, your Dr needs to repeat the procedure.

yes, they can. they can miss some of the p.o.c(products of conception). there have been several documented cases of it, some actually resulting in to term births.
