All a four year old wants is to have fun. Do fun things with her like;
Take her to the Park
Fun parks
Ask her what she would like to do
painting
drawing
cooking, making cakes
Just do fun things with her and she will start to enjoy coming to see her father and you more. You obviously love your partner very much as you want to make and effort with his daughter which I think is fab. Dont find many women like you out there. Once you start to get to know her a little more you will find it easier to do things with her. Think of what you liked to do when you were younger and then ask her. Good Luck and dotn forget to have fun.

spend time with her.
sit in the same room and be with her...I mean be "present".
if she's playing - you don't have to be involved...just sitting there and taking notice of what she's doing (ie "you're playing with your favorite doll....your doll is taking a walk...") will be enough to encourage her to "play" for you...in time (could be minutes - could be days), she'll grow to enjoy your presence and she'll invite you to play.
be patient...
and be careful not to lay adult characteristics on a child...
children are very innocent of an adult's world...

just being present matters.

Good luck....don't make it harder than it is...

Just sit down and spend time with her, playing or reading or drawing or dress up. 4 year olds are fun.
